It is a lovely card but I can see you don't like the texture with the pencils, I must admit I prefer the smooth look

Such a cute image Coops..I tried colouring on linen card and was a bit easier using the oil to blend...but still no where near as good as a smoother card..but yours has come out a lot better than mine did...love the embossing and design.

Oh so cute!! Love a good Noah's Ark image. You are right hun, pencils don't like texture, but they don't like it too smooth either! A blending solution will soon sort you out for these moments. Hugs xx

Hey Nic.
This is one of my favourite Woodware Images, I use it alot for a baby card when my Daughter's works friends ask.
I know what you mean about the effect you have ended with but actually I rather like it and the linen effect looks lovely.

Hiya Nic, yep pencils do prefer slightly smoother surfaces....try markers or paint on a heavily embossed surface. Ooh and if you are game to try something different have a go with markers on Stamping Linen (Joy Crafts)

I think your card is great & kudos to you for trying something new!

Hugs
Jane

I like your card and you did a great job in coloring. I found a paper with more "tooth" to it and then use the gamsol for blending and it works like a charm. Not sure if you got a chance to get that "liquid stuff"! Hugs
